Several months ago I had a conversation with Mark Turrell. He shared shared some of his experiences about how to encourage spread, what to expect as spread begins to take hold, and what to expect from the critical stages as they appear. For me, probably the most pertinent take-away was that communicating with people – lots and lots of people – is a crucial ingredient.

[Update: 2015-04-16] For many years, the spread of civilitic thinking has taken place one-on-one and in small group settings. Unfortunately, spread of ideas by that method is a very slow process. This blog was an early effort to get the ideas out to a wider audience, but still lacked any significant visibility and was ultimately abandoned for a number of years.

Finally with a shift in the acceptance and use of social networks and with the advent of crowdfunding, there may finally be a good opportunity to expose this idea to many people.
